New Product Introduction Area

NPI generally occurs at production phase, or after our Design For Manufacture service is utilised. Our Manufacturing and Engineering personnel implement NPI through a process focussed on "right first time" objectives and meeting deadlines agreed well in advance with the customer.

As with any new products there can be 'teething' problems for our customers with design and material and we try to eliminate as many of these issues as possible to ensure all our customers requirements are fulfilled as quickly as possible.

In the past these products, normally required in small quantities or prototypes, were scheduled into our day-to-day planning activities and when issues arose they were inclined to cause delays both for the new product and also scheduled existing products.

We understand that small volume and prototypes of new product is an essential service for our customers and delays can be costly and frustrating, we therefore decided to introduce a new area on our shop floor that is totally dedicated to New Product Introduction.

Infoteam EMS have a few customers who only require small volume and this new area allows us to give them quicker lead times for production of a mature product as well as expediting new products without compromising on quality.

In conjunction with the new NPI area we have also introduced new company procedures to ensure the new product is handled with the same trace ability and quality controls as established products. All new products are co-ordinated by the NPI team and regular meetings are held to discuss new products and potential issues.

Introducing a new product can be a stressful and expensive experience for our customers and we will endeavour to do everything possible to make the transition from new product to existing product as pain free as possible.

This new area is a fully functioning department with the following equipment

•  Tescon 5588 Prober

•  Ersa Fine Pitch / BGA Manual Inspection, Rework & Placement

•  NXR 1400 X-Ray Systems

•  Dedicated NPI Engineer
